Advanced Clinical Suite

Hospitals can put health IT to work on behalf of providers in an even more beneficial way by adding PatientKeeper's clinical documentation, order entry, medication reconciliation, and e-prescribing capabilities -- individually or in combination -- to our core Clinical Communications Suite. Together, these capabilities create a unified system of engagement for providers that buffers them entirely from having to interact directly with the hospital's EHR system. The result is a robust EHR optimization solution that further streamlines provider workflow to enhance patient care and mitigate technology-induced physician burnout.

Key Features

  • NoteWriter -- The clinical documentation app that offers providers unparalleled flexibility on phones, tablets, and computers
  • CPOE -- Efficiently order meds, labs and radiology from a computer or mobile device with fewer clicks, taps and screens
  • Medication reconciliation -- Electronically track, maintain or adjust patient meds at each transition of care, from admission through discharge
  • e-Prescribing -- Completes the electronic discharge med rec workflow by ordering a patient's home meds from their local pharmacy

"The best feature of PatientKeeper is being able to enter orders on the fly. I do it while I'm talking to the patient in their room. My patients are happier, and the nurses don't have to track me down. PatientKeeper makes my life easier."

Flexible Clinical Notes

PatientKeeper NoteWriter enables clinicians to quickly and easily create robust, complete, daily progress notes and other encounter documentation. Notes are based on user-specific templates and can be automatically populated with your patient’s demographic and clinical information – users can easily import lab results, medications, test results, vital signs, I/Os and more directly into the note.

CPOE Designed for Providers

PatientKeeper CPOE was designed based on physician workflow, so it is quickly and easily adopted by physicians. They are able to translate all of the things they normally do throughout the day — ordering labs, radiology, meds, etc. — into a seamless system that connects all of the appropriate departments within the hospital and healthcare community.

More Efficient Med Rec

PatientKeeper allows providers to efficiently manage their patients’ medications from within a single system. The system automatically matches home and hospital medications, including brand/generic and therapeutic class matching, and allows the provider to easily continue the home or hospital therapy with a single click – no more “manual reconciliation” and matching.

e-Prescribing Completes Discharge Med Rec

PatientKeeper e-Prescribing allows physicians to place medication orders electronically with a patient’s local pharmacy when the patient is discharged from the hospital, completing a fully electronic discharge med rec workflow. e-Prescribing is integrated with PatientKeeper Med Rec, and certified by ONC and Surescripts.

PatientKeeper is an intuitive, provider-facing complement to a hospital's existing EHR system.

PatientKeeper's advanced clinical suite is a complete physician workflow solution, so it effectively replaces the native provider-facing applications within a hospital's EHR systems. For many physicians, not having to interact directly with the hospital EHR would be a huge relief, because most EHRs are notoriously unfriendly for providers. That's because many legacy EHRs were designed first and foremost as systems to support hospital operations and administration; clinical modules were an after-thought, bolted on sometime later. PatientKeeper, on the other hand, exists to support the provider workflow. PatientKeeper offers a far superior user experience for providers than typical EHR systems, yet is fully integrated with the EHR, which remains the hospital’s system of record.
