CPMP recognized for innovative use of PatientKeeper Charge Capture and related software to enhance revenue management at Stony Brook University Physicians practice group
WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--PatientKeeper®, Inc., the leading provider of physician healthcare information systems, has awarded its 2011 PatientKeeper Customer Innovation Award to the Clinical Practice Management Plan (CPMP), the faculty practice plan of the Stony Brook University School of Medicine in Long Island, New York. PatientKeeper recognized CPMP for its extensive and innovative use of PatientKeeper Charge Capture™ and related software to enhance revenue management of the Stony Brook University Physicians’ practices.
As the faculty practice plan, CPMP performs the billing and collection functions for more than 700 healthcare providers across 18 clinical departments.
The annual PatientKeeper Customer Innovation Award recognizes a PatientKeeper customer that best demonstrates how the use of PatientKeeper applications has driven extraordinary improvements and high levels of innovation throughout its organization. PatientKeeper announced the 2011 winner at the PatientKeeper User Group Conference for Financial Applications, held last week in Denver.
“We are honored to be recognized by PatientKeeper for our innovative use of technology,” said Janet Zwergel, director of Consulting Services at CPMP. “We have a long-standing and productive partnership with PatientKeeper, which has yielded dramatic financial returns. Our relationship with PatientKeeper also has positioned us to make a smooth transition from ICD-9 to ICD-10 over the next two years.”
In addition to PatientKeeper Charge Capture, CPMP uses PatientKeeper Forms™ to create custom forms for electronic capture of data within the physician billing workflow; PatientKeeper PQRS™, which enables CPMP to capture physician responses to questions required to satisfy the CMS PQRS measures while the physician is entering charges electronically; and PatientKeeper ePrescription™ (powered by DrFirst), which enables physicians to write and send complete, accurate electronic prescriptions. CPMP is also deploying PatientKeeper Charge Analytics™, an analysis and reporting tool that gives institutions a complete decision support environment for analyzing electronic charge capture data.
“The PatientKeeper 2011 Customer Innovation Award recognizes CPMP’s body of work and innovation over eight years, and the entire organization’s commitment to quality standards and continuous improvement,” said Paul Brient, president and CEO of PatientKeeper. “PatientKeeper and CPMP’s shared approach to innovation has resulted in many successes to date, and we look forward to ongoing collaboration with CPMP to further streamline physicians’ workflow.”
Established in the 1970s, CPMP supports the 18 clinical departments in the Stony Brook University School of Medicine. Each of these departments has a corresponding clinical practice entity through which patient care services are rendered and billed. Over the past 30 years, CPMP programs and services have grown in response to the direction and needs of the practice entities. Some expanded services have been built on the core billing, collection, and disbursement services performed by CPMP. Today, CPMP offers a wide range of programs and services designed to add value to the clinical practice entities.
