Community Memorial Health System Deploys PatientKeeper CPOE
Southern California hospital goes live with physician-friendly order entry software that complements its MEDITECH Client/Server hospital information system
Waltham, Mass. – May 14, 2013 – PatientKeeper® Inc., the leading provider of healthcare applications for physicians, today announced that Community Memorial Health System (CMHS) in Ventura County, California, has deployed PatientKeeper CPOE™. PatientKeeper's electronic order entry software initially went live with CMHS's hospitalists, who attend a majority of inpatient admissions. The health system's full population of more than 500 physicians will be brought onto the PatientKeeper CPOE system over the next eight months.
Community Memorial is the twenty-first hospital or health system to go live with PatientKeeper CPOE in 2013.
At Community Memorial, CPOE is part of a broader physician workflow automation project, which was driven from the outset by CMHS's physicians. PatientKeeper was already being used as the primary method for physicians to access clinical results from CMHS's MEDITECH® Client/Server system, PACS system and EKG system on PatientKeeper's Web-based portal, smartphones and tablets. Next, CMHS will expand its PatientKeeper deployment to include medication reconciliation, electronic physician documentation and sign-out.
"PatientKeeper is giving physicians a software tool they are actually happy to use," said CMHS Chief Medical Officer Stanley Frochtzwajg, MD. "It's intuitive, and it's flexible -- we can use it on our phones, or our iPads, or on a PC. Most of our hospitalists required little or no formal training. With PatientKeeper, we finally have software that saves physicians time, rather than costing us time."
