Lutheran Medical Center Selects PatientKeeper Charge Capture Software
PatientKeeper and billing services partner Caduceus Inc. offer Brooklyn, NY hospital a comprehensive revenue cycle management solution
WALTHAM, Mass. & NEW YORK, N.Y. – April 4, 2012 – PatientKeeper® Inc., the leading provider of physician healthcare information systems, today announced that Lutheran Medical Center (LMC), a 468-bed academic teaching hospital in Brooklyn, NY, working in conjunction with its billing services provider, Caduceus Inc., will implement PatientKeeper Charge Capture™ software to improve revenue cycle management and streamline professional fee charge capture for LMC’s physicians.
LMC will deploy PatientKeeper Charge Capture to physicians across 17 departments, who will use the software on PCs, laptops, smartphones and tablets. PatientKeeper Charge Capture will be integrated into Caduceus’s GE Centricity Business® billing software.
Caduceus expects the deployment at Lutheran to go live this summer. Caduceus and PatientKeeper are replacing LMC’s previous charge capture and billing system vendor.
Lutheran Medical Center is a level one Trauma Center and Stroke Center that has cared for Brooklyn communities since 1883. As a full service 468-bed teaching hospital, with a commitment to patient care excellence, community service, health education and research, LMC is the hub of Lutheran HealthCare, a network of primary, acute and long-term care centers in southwest Brooklyn.
Caduceus, headquartered in New York City, is a value-added reseller of PatientKeeper Charge Capture. Prior to the addition of Lutheran, the companies already had several joint hospital clients. The implementation at Lutheran will increase Caduceus’s PatientKeeper user base to over 300.
PatientKeeper Charge Capture dramatically reduces lost charges and lag days by eliminating inefficiencies associated with paper-based charge systems. The system allows physicians to record charges on whatever device they prefer, including desktop and laptop computers, popular smartphones, and tablets.
“We are pleased to partner with PatientKeeper on a revenue cycle management solution for another leading New York-area hospital,” said James Bonomo, Executive Vice President at Caduceus. “We know from experience that physicians appreciate the ease of use and short learning curve with PatientKeeper.”
“Caduceus is a valued PatientKeeper business partner, and we’re excited about expanding the number of hospitals and physicians that we serve together,” said Paul Brient, president and CEO of PatientKeeper.
