PatientKeeper and HCA Awarded U.S. Patent for Technology that Underlies Physician Workflow Automation System
The United States Patent and Trademark Office has awarded PatientKeeper, Inc. and its corporate parent, HCA Healthcare, Inc., a patent for technology they invented that underlies PatientKeeper's physician workflow automation software.
The patent, entitled "Contextual Assessment of Current Conditions" (U.S. No. 9,779,611), describes the mechanism by which PatientKeeper aggregates disparate sources of patient data and presents the most relevant components for the patient's current condition to individual users based on their clinical specialty and personal preferences. As implemented in PatientKeeper software, the result is an information system that enables physicians to make more informed and actionable care decisions directly at the point of care.
