8 Standout CIOs - Marty Paslick, HCA
Becker's Health IT & CIO Review
The CIO has become an integral member of the healthcare C-suite. Here are an additional eight hospital and health system CIOs who stand out in their roles.
P. Martin Paslick, MBA, is senior vice president and CIO of Nashville, Tennessee-based Hospital Corporation of America. A 30-year veteran of HCA, Paslick leads the company’s Information Technology & Services department (IT&S), which provides IT strategy and support for HCA and its 165 hospitals. IT&S has more than 4,500 employees across the U.S. and includes four data centers and 15 division support centers responsible for delivering IT services to HCA, as well as more than 80 non-HCA facilities. During his career at HCA, Paslick has led the development of new IT units to pursue business opportunities – the acquisition of PatientKeeper, Inc., a leading provider of healthcare applications for physicians, in 2014 is one recent example – and the transformation of the organization’s field-based IT operations. Paslick holds two undergraduate degrees and an MBA, all from the University of Louisville.
