PatientKeeper Awarded U.S. Patent for Advanced Data Synchronization Technology

Ability to Access Current Information from Numerous Data Sources Helps Physicians Make the Most Informed Clinical Decisions

Boston, Mass. – October 3, 2006 – PatientKeeper®, Inc., a leading provider of physician information systems, today announced that a key component of the company’s data synchronization technology has been awarded patent number 7,099,896 by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The patent relates generally to synchronizing information on mobile devices with data stored in multiple enterprise data sources. This technology makes possible many innovative applications, including software that allows physicians to make the most informed clinical decisions by aggregating current and relevant information about their patients.

Results from a recent Manhattan Research telephone survey of 1,250 practicing physicians found that 52 percent of physicians use PDAs, Smartphones or other mobile computing devices, either at home or work, as part of their routine in treating patients.

“As professionals increasingly turn to mobile technology and enterprise applications to support their information-intensive workdays, the ability of users to manage information from multiple data sources also becomes increasingly important – and complicated,” said Jeff Sutherland, Ph.D., chief technology officer of PatientKeeper, Inc. “This patent represents PatientKeeper’s commitment to invest in and develop innovative intellectual property that addresses the evolving needs to our customers.”

Only PatientKeeper is designed to support a physician throughout the entire day, across all settings of care.
