PatientKeeper Completes Series D Financing Round;
Adds New Staff and Expands Operations
Healthcare Software Provider Appoints Feldman Vice President Engineering
BOSTON, Mass. June 8, 2004 PatientKeeper®, a leading provider of mobile computing solutions for healthcare, t oday announced that it has completed a $7 million round of funding.
The round was led by a syndicate of prestigious venture firms including Whitney & Co., New Enterprise Associates, Frazier Healthcare, Mediphase Venture Partners, Mosaix Ventures, and Pacific Venture Group. The money will be used to meet growing product demand and to extend the company's leadership in mobile computing solutions for hospitals and healthcare.

The company also said it plans to add more staff in the next several months and expects to increase headcount by 50% by the end of the year to support its rapidly growing customer base. The company has recently added customers across the healthcare continuum ranging from health systems to large academic medical centers to community hospitals to group practices. Adventist Health System, Berkshire Health Systems, Clinical Practice Management Plan (CPMP) Stony Brook, Digestive Health Systems, Halifax Fish Community Health Systems, Sinai Medical Group Chicago, and The University of Kansas Hospital are among many recent contracts.

PatientKeeper Appoints David Feldman Vice President of Engineering
PatientKeeper is pleased to announce the appointment of 14-year high-tech veteran David N. Feldman as vice president of engineering. Feldman comes to PatientKeeper from Viewpoint Corporation, where, as executive vice president, he led the firm’s imaging technology from concept to adoption by Microsoft, Intel, Adobe, AOL, and others. Feldman helped build annual revenues from zero to $18 million.
“We have made a major step forward in our product development leadership with David's arrival,” said Brient. “He brings solid technical background to PatientKeeper and adds depth to our capability in strategy and business development, too. We look forward to his contributions as we expand the business of mobile computing.”
Prior to Viewpoint, Feldman was a founding director of Specular International. He held positions including chief strategist, software engineer, acting CFO, and director of research and development. He forged strategic relationships with Adobe, Apple, and Avid Technology. Feldman began his technology career at Apple Computer as the primary product engineer on the File Manager for Apple System 7.
Dave Feldman holds a B.A. in Computer Science from Dartmouth College and received his MBA, with distinction, from Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration.
