PatientKeeper Continues Record Customer Growth

Demand from Health Systems, Community Hospitals, Academic Medical Centers and Physician Groups Grows for PatientKeeper’s Physician Information System Applications

Boston, Mass., – August 23, 2007 – PatientKeeper®, Inc., the leading provider of physician information systems, announced dramatic growth and continuing momentum across all product lines, including financial, clinical and complete physician information systems, in the last six months of 2007. Customers ranged from large health systems and academic medical centers to community hospitals, physician group practices and medical billing companies.

Recently added PatientKeeper customers include Indiana University Medical Group, Mercy General Health Partners, OSU Internal Medicine, LLC, Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Priority Management Group, Alegent Health, Iowa Health System (IHS), Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center, Austin Heart and East Cooper Regional Medical Center.

PatientKeeper’s Physician Information System makes physician work processes simpler and more efficient by integrating patient data from multiple systems, providing physician-specific applications and allowing access anywhere from any computing device.

“We see a number of benefits coming to our organization from the PatientKeeper implementation, not the least of which is the increased revenue we expect from improvements to our charge capture process,” said Bob Stimac, chief business intelligence officer at Indiana University Medical Group. “One of the great things about PatientKeeper that makes it possible to achieve the goals we have for the system is its flexibility. As a large decentralized academic medical center, we have numerous specialty and sub-specialty practices that have developed processes that suit their individual needs. We can use the built-in PatientKeeper administrative tools to configure the system down to the sub-specialty level and achieve our desired enterprise-wide improvements without costly one-off customizations. This can be achieved with minimal impact on existing provider practices.”

The PatientKeeper Physician Information System enables physicians to electronically capture charges as well as quickly see lab and test results, medication histories, allergies, vital signs, inputs/outputs, PACS images and other important patient information at the point of care. Physician benefits from the use of the physician information system are many and include improved cash flow and top-line revenue growth, enhanced productivity and time savings, increased quality of care, and elevated physician satisfaction.

“Our providers are very excited about the PatientKeeper implementation, and we hope that it will support our efforts to make IHS the easiest health system to work with in the region,” said Dr. Kent Bottles, chief medical officer of Iowa Health System. “We expect PatientKeeper to yield significant benefits in terms of improving quality of care by making it easy for providers to get the latest patient information no matter where they are. Because there are many other PatientKeeper sites in the region, we can also explore information-sharing initiatives to give area providers access to patient data from multiple facilities.”

“Our strength is in our ability to integrate data from disparate systems and present it in a personalized format, tailored for physicians,” said Paul Brient, chief executive officer of PatientKeeper. “Our rapid growth demonstrates that the industry has really caught on to the benefits of this new category of physician information system technology.”

PatientKeeper solutions are used in conjunction with all of the major hospital information systems, electronic medical records (EMRs), PACS, document imaging systems and practice management systems, including Cerner, Eclipsys, Epic, GE Healthcare/IDX, McKesson, MEDITECH, QuadraMed, Siemens and others.
