PatientKeeper Names Paul W. Brient as President and CEO

Boston, Mass. October 7, 2002 - PatientKeeper Inc., one of the early leaders in mobile computing solutions for the healthcare industry, today announced Paul W. Brient as their new president and chief executive officer, effective October 1, 2002.

With over 15 years of executive leadership in healthcare information technology, Brient will build on PatientKeeper's early market leadership and drive PatientKeeper's transition to a customer-focused and highly profitable corporate enterprise, making significant improvements to the way healthcare is delivered.

"PatientKeeper's rich mobile enterprise technology has the potential to directly impact the driving issues in healthcare today, like patient safety, rising costs and staff shortages." offered Brient. "The value and relevance of mobile technology, coupled with the staggering growth of handheld usage by clinicians, have set the stage for PatientKeeper's success. I look forward to working with the staff and the board to demonstrably enhance our market share and positively impact the delivery of care for our health system customers." Brient added.

Prior to joining PatientKeeper, Brient held various senior executive-level positions at McKesson Corporation; most recently as senior vice president and general manager of MHS Technologies a highly profitable division focused on medical management software applications. Brient's career at McKesson began at HPR Inc. where he led Product Management and overall product strategy before helping sell the company to HBOC, which subsequently merged with McKesson. Since then, Brient has overseen the growth of the organization to over $100M in revenue. Brient has also served as a management consultant for The Boston Consulting Group, and began his healthcare IT career as the founder and president of BCS, a physician office management software company.

Brient earned his MBA from The Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration and holds a BSE from Princeton University in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science.

"The board and staff of PatientKeeper are truly anticipating Paul's arrival," commented Robert Ryan, chairman of PatientKeeper's Board of Directors. "His knowledge of healthcare and specifically healthcare technology, coupled with his operational, management and marketing savvy, will prove a great asset." furthered Ryan.

Brient will follow Gary Foster who served as PatientKeeper's first president and chief executive officer. According to Ryan, "Gary's leadership was instrumental to building this enterprise and to the design and development of a platform and suite of applications that is unparalleled in healthcare. He has our respect, our thanks and our best wishes." .
